Xiaomi Redmi MIUI 10 update for Redmi Note 5 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 8 & Mi MIX 3
Xiaomi finally started rolling out the latest version of its MIUI 10 operating system based on Android for its widely popular Redmi Note 5 Pro. The latest update comes with build number v10.0.2.0.OEIMIFH and weighs 152MB in size. Notably, the Redmi Note 5 Pro who haven’t yet updated their devices to the MIUI 10 will be needed to download the full update which weighs 597MB in size. Xiaomi posted this information on its official MIUI forums. The Latest update brings a number of tweaks and improvements along with some bug fixes. The changelog posted on the MIUI forum reveals that the Latest update fixes the issues such as the device getting rebooted after opening the camera app, notifications marked as unimportant while showing up on the lock screen & others. All the Redmi Note 5 Pro users will be started receiving the notifications related to the update when it will be available for the device. However, if in the case someone has not received the notification, they can always check for the updates manually. In order to check for the updates manually, users will need to head to the Settings> System updates> Check for update.
The updates are currently rolling out in a phased manner and will be available coming soon for the masses. To recall, the Redmi Note 5 Pro packs a 5.99-inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of (1080 x 2160) pixels. There is Corning Gorilla Glass on top for screen protection. The smartphone is backed by an octa-core Snapdragon 636 SoC which is paired with Adreno 509 GPU to take care of the graphics. The Redmi Note 5 Pro is available in 2 RAM variants including 4GB and 6GB variant & comes with 64GB of storage. The built-in storage is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.
For imaging, the Redmi Note 5 Pro ma use of a double rear camera setup comprising of a 12MP primary lens and a 5MP secondary lens. There is a 20MP front camera to capture selfies and to make video calls.

These are phones perform well with the software optimizations. The Mi Mix 3 comes with a dual-camera module at its rear. It has been 12MP dual cameras with CMOS Sony IMX363 & Samsung S5K3M3+ sensors. And, Lei Jun has revealed that the R&D team at Xiaomi are working towards providing an update to both the Mi 8 & Mi Mix 2S in order to improve the camera performance. When it comes to the camera performance, the Mi Mix 2S has achieved 96 points while the Mi 8 scored 98 points at DxO mark. Undoubtedly, we expect the software update to improves the camera performance further & make them on par with the Mi Mix 3 in this aspect. Dedicated camera R&D Xiaomi started receiving acclaims for it’s camera performance after it built a dedicated R&D for the mobile camera units. The main focus of this department is to enhance the camera quality & integrate AI capabilities in them. Xiaomi’s change in the development tactics has let the company see exceptional changes. Now, it’s trying to improve the camera performance & quality instead of adding more pixels.

The smartphone is currently available for pre-order on Mi.com for 3299 Yuan (Rs 33,000) for the base variant with 6 GB of RAM & 128 GB of internal storage & the top of the line variant with10 GB of RAM & 256 GB of storage is available for 4999 Yuan (Rs 50,000).

The company informs about the fact that the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 will be support 5G network. At the launch event, Xiaomi has been confirmed that the 5G version of the Mi MIX 3 will be launched in early 2019 (probably with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC).
The main highlight of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 the mechanical slider, which helps the company to offer higher screen to body ratio without compromising on any of the sensors. Unlike the Vivo NEX and the Oppo Find X, there isn’t motor to raise the slider, instead, the smartphone uses the old-school manual slider mechanism, that we have seen on Nokia and Motorola phones.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 comes with a 6.39-inch OLED display with a resolution of (2340 x 1080p), protected by 2.5D curved tempered glass. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC with 6/8/10 GB of RAM & 128/256 GB of internal storage with no micro SD card slot.
The smartphone has a dual 12 MP camera setup (wide angle + telephoto lens) with features like 960fps super-slow-motion video recording, 4K video recording 60fps, & improved low-light photography. The main camera scores 103 points (108 for photos, 93 for videos) on DXO Mark, which equivalent as of the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus & the Apple iPhone XS Max.
